Scenic landscapes and cultural portraits are the focus of Yang’s photography.  With diverse and unique experience spanning more than five decades, Yang's photography journey has taken him across China and around the world as a travel photographer for the past five decades.

Yang’s photos have been featured numerous times by homeland and overseas publications.  He has also held over a dozen personal photography exhibitions across different provinces of China and overseas. Yang’s has published two photography books: the “The Lives in the World of Light and Shadow” and “From Trips in China to Journeys Around the World”.

杨元惺，中国艺术摄影学会主席，有着五十余年摄影经历的、独具一格的旅行者和摄影者。1942年生，祖籍湖北，解放军通讯工程学院毕业，高级工程师，中国摄影家协会会员。

杨元惺人生阅历丰富而积淀深厚，半个多世纪来，迷恋于在摄影中行走、在行走中摄影的自在人生。曾15次驱车云南、新疆，10多次进青海，几番自驾车穿越美、加、澳等国；行万里路，拍万千景，在拍摄中感悟生命。

杨元惺的作品以自然风光、风土人情见长，其作品大多激情四溢且色彩亮丽、画面视觉广阔，在构图上追求生命和自然气息；极具人格魅力和艺术气质。作品多次被专业刊物登载并被国内外画册收录，出版有《光影世界，知性人生》《驭光中国，逐影世界》等摄影集，先后数次在国内外举办个人影展。
